I got my first proof copy of Ellie and Kat today from KDP Amazon. It was a special moment! I love love love the cover design by Darcy Day Zoells.
I’m not finding many out-and-out errors, but there was at least one whopper: I somehow transposed chapters 29 and 30. Ugh. But that’s why we proofread, right? I have plenty of time to make corrections before the book comes out in April.
Reading along today, I got this great idea. I came to the page where Ellie and Kat concoct a scheme based on something they read in Time Traveling with a Hamster, by Ross Welford, which happens to be my favorite time-travel novel. (I actually reference several novels in the book - the twins are great readers.)
Anyway, I thought, what if I sent Ross Welford an ARC and asked him for a blurb? I could send him the page where the twins talk about his book.
Then I thought about the new Time Travel Twins series by James Patterson and Tad Safran. Why not get them on board, too? All of a sudden I’m getting an image of the four of us sharing tables at sci-fi conferences and bookstore signings.
What do you think? Would you do it?
Meanwhile, I’d better just get the ARCs in the best possible shape for whatever I end up doing with them.
Brilliant idea! I'm so excited for you!
I love the cover. Go for it! I think it’s a good idea.
